After Siena it is 'take a deep breath time'. The morning after the day before (Thursday), saw us head north-west to San Gimignano for a few days. Today was our cooking day. Lesley picked us up and drove us to her house in another nearby village. She is from England , but has lived in Italy for 11 years. She had Lisenna helping, who only spoke Italian. We made 4 courses. For our antipasti we made La Ribollita, or Tuscan bean soup. Our first course was gnocchi with a cheese sauce. It was a monastery built about 1211 by St. Francis and his followers as a place to come and pray. The "cells" were big enough for a bed, table and chair.
