... it's made up -- they had a couple of Italian restaurants along one street and so deemed it Little Italy. Probably very cynical of me. The W Hotel is happening tonight ... some big wine tasting event. Lots of sleek young bodies in high heels and/or tight pants. Both men and women. Very amusing. I definitely felt out of place ...
San Diego, California, United States ahartryAt work all day, then late afternoon flight. No problems with flight at all ... arrived, got rental car, then drove the few miles to the W Hotel. Very swank. The "living room" bar was happening ... but we just went to our rooms, then met for dinner at Rice, the embedded restaurant, which serves Cuban/Asian fusion. Food was fine, not fab.

Room is fun ... there's a chalkboard (that received a bit of J. Alfred Prufrock from me) and a window seat. And the linens are wonderful.

San Diego, California, United States ahartryFrom the Pacific to the Atlantic to where the Pacific meets the Atlantic to the Pacific to the Atlantic and back to the Pacific. Phew! What a ride its been. I am back in Cali (again). Heather picks me up from the airport and we sleep on her new sailboat! First time for everything! I have the best sleep of my life. We get up the next morning and ...
San Diego, California, United States flutterby7011... Fracht** **st wied** nutzen wird, wenn die Voegel mit dem Nisten f**tig sind. Wir sind beeindruckt. san jose del cabo, Mexico flitterjahr... most US cities but this one is pretty easy to get the hang of). I would go so far as to say that San Diego is the best city in California. Its sunny, clean, has stacks to do and is filled with friendly easy going people and the best coffee that I have ever had in North America. Indeed the coffee here is better then most coffee outside Melbourne in Australia. Many places here will appear in my new book, how & where to find good coffee in North America - also in the running to to ...
San Diego, California, United States pod501... the 19th and the other was yesterday around 4:30 at Long Beach, we were there shortly after that. San Diego Zoo is absolutley beautiful and probably the best zoo we have been too. There is just so much greenery throughout the zoo. Our tickets included the tour bus, all day bus access and skyfari (chair lifts) which other people had to pay for. We went on the bus tour first which took us through most of the zoo and the commentary was mostly interesting. We didn't get to see the ...
San Diego, California, United States woolfiestrip... so I knew I would be back there later. I stopped off at a little café that was open and grabbed myself a mango smoothie. It was good, but it wasn't a Jamba Juice. I headed back to the hotel at midday and got changed for the game. Hard life this is. I then headed over. The nice thing about the hotel is that it has a walkway that goes straight into the stadium so I could just wander right in ...
San Diego, California, United States loxias... RV parks; flea markets; and stalls littering the roadside selling everything from rocks, leather goods, jewelry, and food. Joanna was waiting with the SAG, where we quickly stopped to refill water and Gatorade bottles, and quickly continued to the east edge of town to visit Sweet Darlene's and sample the pie and cinnamon rolls. After Quartzsite, we re-entered I-10 for an 11-mile climb through the New Water Mountains. From the peak, a 4-mile descent ...
Salome, Arizona, United States kedd... turn on the PIAA lights on my bike. Blown fuse. Uh-oh... but I wasn't going to turn back just because of that. Even if the stock BMW headlights ARE pretty lame by themselves. Everything was going great and I was just starting to relax. I even thought something along the lines of: "Hey, this isn't too bad, at least there's no deer on the road like at home. Maybe I'll do this every night." How's that for hubris? Suddenly I noticed something large & ...
