I managed to fit in a quick day trip to Lens to see the Louvre outpost there and also connect with a doctoral student I met last summer. We met there, went to the Louvre, had lunch, and then walked to the top of one of "les terrils" and drank some champagne. It was a lovely day all around. I am fond of coal mining towns because of my own geneology. The town has preserved these large coal mountains as a reminder of the hard work and sacrifice of the coal miners.

of names of missing men. This was a very quiet solemn experience, but I
glad I got to see it.

... much ketchup! But I did go to the best doner place in Berlin and was not disappointed with that at all!!! It took me about 20mins to eat but I did it, it included both roasted and fresh veggies with meat and feta cheese. Amazing!!! I took a photo and proceeded to show everyone I met. I visited the largest flea market in Berlin and it was extremely large! Every way I turned there was a new alley way of stalls and unfortunately when you live out of a backpack you can not buy things ...
... We eventually located the bus stop and found that busses run on the hour, so we waited around and caught the bus to the airport. When we arrived we went to Enterprise rental desk, only to find it unattended. We asked the Avis lady next door where the guy was, her response was he's gone home for lunch and won’t be back until Friday!... it was Wednesday!
After a the kind Avis lady took us under her wing and quoted us double ...
