... in what I'm about to embark on. Definitely the biggest adventure if my life to date. I can't wait to explore new cultures, meet new people from all over the world and fit in as many new experiences as possible! ... rate. She survived the flight. So... The hostel. Arriving at the exact address for our advertised hostel, we came to a hotel with a completely different name - it looked okay though. A fairly rude lady checked us in, then took us over the road to another hotel, they then took us down a side alley to our dorm. It was at this point I had to repeatedly remind myself to 'embrace every minute'. There were 8 bunks, the last 2 in a separate room separated by a net curtain - it ...
Into St Peter Port today and had a stroll around the shopping area and waterfront for a couple of hours. Had lunch in a nice Italian restaurant on the waterfront, fresh caught crayfish, prawns and crab meat, absolutely beautiful.
Went to a nice pub for a short sharpie while Joseph went to Cubs and then home for dinner, a nice relaxing day.
A drive around the island and a coupe of walks this morning up hill and down dale, saw an old observation post - battery built and used during the napoleonic wars. Also saw quite a few gunnery posts built by the Germans in the Second World War during the occupation.
A quiet relaxing afternoon was a pleasant relief from all the rushing around we have been doing.
