As we drove closer to San Marino, we all started saying, "Did she REALLY say "the NATION" of San Marino?? And that's exactly what it was: It's full title is "The Republic of San Marino". John will do doubt tell you of its history. It's set high on a mountain, with the most glorious view and was yet another treasure chest waiting to be opened for us! It was our nicest hotel by far - VERY upmarket! - and it was exciting to follow the ...
We are on our last day in Rimini, and we're both quite glad of it. Not that we haven't had a good time (though the hostel has been a bit rubbish).
The journey down here from Munich was a real slog! It took 8 hours, though that didn't really bother us too much. 8 hours of discomfort on a cramped Italian train however, that was what made it difficult. It was a compartment style train (6 seat per compartment, 3 on each side facing each other) which seemed great when we first sat down ...

... to check in the morning. Of course morning came and they had one room left but couldn't do it for any lease than 30euros more than the orignally wanted. Son instead of saving 30 we spent an extra 30 - oh well to quote Role Models don't ********* a *********ter...hillarous movie (and only one we've seen in months) by the way. Next day we toured all around Rimini which we expected to be like a jazzed up Miami but actually had a cool historic center and eclectic ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattj... Byzantine mozaics in the world, Ravenna is small, has free bike hire and a bike/pedestiran only town centre, and of the sites apart from one lie within a few hundred metres of one another. Another highlight - the place is free of the hoards of tourists we encountered everywhere else in Italy.
And the mosaics - my pictures don't do them any justice at all, you really must go for ...
... early, as if he didn’t know. On fourth down the Lazio quarterback scrambled right and got in for a touchdown. They lined up for a two point conversion, and I asked 2 if they were actually going to throw the fade to him (which he had run on the previous play). The ball was snapped, he ran the fade and despite knowing the play I second guessed myself, hesitated, and got beat on the fade. It was now 35-21.
Despite us expecting an onside kick, Lazio did ...
... in my life on one beach. There was even a beach shower at the waters edge (advising us not to use shampo (their spelling not mine).
The water temp was cooler than in Sicily but still pleasant enough. by this time the sun had disappeared behind rain clouds. We headed back into town for coffee & shopping. Mandy found a ring but didn't buy it. I think she regretted it as for the next few days she wanted to head back to Fano.
Ciao
... the start. It was every show, not just the odd one. They were truly amazing and probably the best we’ve had yet. I imagine the finale was what it must be like at a rock concert - they rushed down the front dancing and screaming...all for me of course...and the rush it gave was brilliant.
Thank you so much Forli..you were great!
But no photos...sorry!
... the track prices were so high for the gear and we got it for joining the fan club. From here we went to the town of Rimini and tried to find the Italian National motorcycle Museum. The GPS had us in the area but we couldn’t find it , even asking around was fruitless so we drove around the local airport side road amongst farm houses and came upon it tucked up a side road with very little signage. The man was heading out for lunch but also told us ...
