Well, the journey into the Med went reasonably well although we did travel a total of nearly 1200 miles to get to Gibraltar albeit that the direct line is about 950 miles. Our longest tack was about 230 miles!!! I have to thank John and Steve very much for their company and help along the way.

... Renee, and it was great to have a coffee and share travel tales. Bilbao – Roma – Cagliari. Here we are in Sardegna. Much to the horror of our boys and the driver we have picked up the biggest 9 seater bongo van in existence (without power steering I might add). It will be very much like a 60's experience of cruising around this beach clad island in a volkswagon ! !

We left just in time as a cold wind was blowing there yesterday and we had certainly been lucky with the weather. We loved Montenegro so much we hope to go back one day.

Calasetta proved to be a very frustrating anchorage. When we first arrived I had snorkled out to have a look at the anchor to make sure it was well dug in and I was very surprised to see not only was it supposedly so well dug in it had disappeared into the mud completely along with at least 10 metres of chain.
