          ... of the longer stays.

We took a walk into the local village, Capmany, this morning, found the cafè/bar and got an ice cream and found the deli and got lunch, a nice walk around the narrow streets before we headed back to the site. After lunch we had a game of pétanque and chilled out in the sun. This evening we will pack up ready for our move tomorrow for the first of our longer stays.

To Auterive and this time we found the aire, right next to the river but over the bridge. We popped into the tourist office and they gave us a super 'circuit historique', a leaflet highlighting all the historic parts of the town. An excellent walk too with a surprisingly long history. He set this up between 1961-74 in a series of grand buildings that had been semi-ruined in the Civil War. It was amazing to turn into the street and see the main big pink ...

... culminating with the 1492 expulsion of the Jews from Spain by those godly monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella!

We walked the narrow cobblestone lanes, hemmed in by formidable ramparts. Human spirit was confined quite literally. We had intended to go out in the evening for tapas but the weight of travel and history (and our good lunch) depleted our resolve and we faded out early in Girona!

... school here. On our way back home I was side-tracked by a party with loud music and heaps of pink balloons- a 1 year olds and the parents are from Brazil! They offered us beers, wine and cake - we said No But thank you! The adults were having fun! We had an extremely enjoyable Italian dinner by the waterfront - we shared minestrone soup - lasagne and house salad - All tasty and different - best salad I have ever had!! mixed lettuce, red ...
