My last two days in Tenerife

... with my friends on the beach for the last time, have a few well deserved drinks, talk with Avi (from UIowa) about MCAT and premed course work, walk on the most jagged rocks I think I've ever been on, get sunburned on my legs (AGAIN), take some embarrassingly ridiculous selfies, interrupt a game of rugby between Spaniards, and get lost in the beauty of my favorite place in the north of Tenerife. I didn't want to leave the beach, but I really needed to get back home to put on ...

    Gynecology

... Laguna, the doctors were very concerned about the baby's development, but they induced her labor (for reasons I don't really know the details of). She ended up having the baby at 26 weeks--last Friday--and now she's recovering on the unit. ... area and I was determined to do it without any walking aid; consequently we did not get far by normal standards but my stroll in the park pace with stops at various waterholes achieved a reasonable standard.

The town buzzes with tourists from all over Europe and their languages sound like various parts of a great orchestra with differing tones and sounds, some are soft and smooth, others seem to flow up and down the scales in staccato while the ...

    Week3---WEEKEND---week4

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 11, 2014

... trip, and since it's been awhile since any of us have had semi-American food, we all dug in.

The next morning, we went on a hike in a northern part of the island called Teno--a mountainous region. Since we were at such a high elevation, the vegetation was very similar to that of deserts--all kinds of cactus and weird flowers/shrubs that only grow in places where water is in short supply. The views from the trail were totally amazing; we were right on the edge of the ...
