We left Montpellier and decided to stop at Bezier before heading into Spain. We were hoping that we would be able to visit a few markets. ... AVE high speed train. It goes 300 km an hour and get you there in 90 minutes. It was so fun that we did an AVE-inspired day trip to Cordoba. That was three AVE hours -- but it was a lovely way to see a place we might have otherwise missed. We also had an interesting outing to the closest wine district in Requena, courtesy of our friend (and Henry's art teacher) Jenni.

... a wander but nothing too heavy. On Monday morning we decided to walk into town, probably around 20 minutes to see what was happening, well, nothing. It is amazing but everything seems to close down, there are hundreds and hundreds of units and apartments that are closed for the winter, they generally won't open until April/May, same as the restaurants and shops, it is quite eerie walking through an almost empty town. ...
