Jaga and I managed to get a few climbing routes done during the 7 days we were there, and I think both of us considered our trip there to be a success (though it fell far short of our Disney hopes and dreams). On our first day in Chamonix, when it was still rainy and foggy, we headed to the chairlifts on the opposite side of the valley to the Aguilles Rouge. The Rouge is a ...

A beautiful last day in Annecy

... portfolio? After our cruise we continued on our walking tour and immediately fell in love with the canals and old town area of Annecy. Oh my, so very, very beautiful! And yes, touristy, but not with that frantic hunt for the dollar vibe that you feel in so many popular places. As with the lake, the water in the canals is as clear as a clear thing can be. It flows at a fair old rate too, around and between and sometimes even under the buildings. ...
