... the crosses. He explained they were for Jewish soldiers who fought fit Germany. That was more surprising too until he explained it was World War One, not World War Two. He said there are very few visitors to these cemeteries. Next, off to lunch. We agreed that Sylvester should choose where we eat and he drove us to Albert. Wonderful little restaurant. We sat at a long table... They obviously knew Sylvester there and that just made it special. We spent most of lunch with ...

At least this many steps today my goodness we walked everywhere and up and down a lot of stairs. First off we stopped for a coffee and don't we run into a street market. Unable to resist a good market we wandered through. It was the place of bargains, we had noticed the prices quite a bit higher in Paris at the supermarket but the market is the place to buy. Fruit, candy drinks all for a bargain, not sure what perhaps they are expired or imported from Iran or somewhere, but like that ...

Saw Mona Lisa and many other paintings and sculptures. Metro back to apartment to rest weary feet:) A fantastic ...

Anyway, did some preparation for Stephs dinner then off out to Gallery Lafayette for some serious frock searching. Did in fact have luck at Dianne Von Fustein but not a party dress. Tried on a couple and one that was quite nice at Karen Millen. Might just have to go with the lace dress I bought last year. Starving hungry so ...

... WERE CLOSED!!!! Seriously! After dripping all over the stupid entrance we decided to head on home for a hot bath.

We tucked into a cheeky little beaujolais back at our apartment where I had the brilliant idea to book us into dinner at a lovely restaurant that had been mentioned in most tour guides - Aux Lyonnais. It was magnificient. Really pretty decor, hugely romantic and the food was sublime. A perfect end to a mixed bag of a day.
