... believe it or not), but we followed a sign for a restaurant, which led us to the outskirts of town. And, of course, they were closed! We had passed by some nice landmarks in San Severo including a really pretty fountain, but that was near the beginning of town, and we were already beyond the end of town (and hungry!). We discovered it on the internet as a motorhome stop over but it is much, much more than that. At the centre of the estate, a large whitewashed farmhouse with flowering camellias in a sheltered courtyard, down below, cellars with brick vaulted ceilings and beyond terraced gardens with herbs, lemons and oranges. In addition, an acclaimed restaurant that serves traditional Puglian recipes. There is a push in southern Italy to get farmers and estates to get into "agriturismo" ...

Early start and we were off the boat just after 7.30am. We taxied onto the old town and things were just starting to open when we got there so we had some breakfast.
