Great rooms, clean, helpful reception. It is great to have a balcony and be able to sit outside in this beautiful Italian weather. the air conditioning is a little cool and location requires a 5 minute bus into Centro but otherwise it's a great experience. Breakfast outstanding.

Last night for dinner we went back to the same restaurant. The food was even better although it is certainly more expensive. The ambience is also great. I loved my scallops – very tender and delicious. This morning after breakfast we left this sweet accommodation and mainly spent the day driving back to …

... That's about it. We lunched on the balcony, walked around the town, had some drinks overlooking the harbour and enjoyed dinner on the edge of the water.

As I write our bags are nearly packed and tomorrow we drive to Rome to drop off our car. We have 2 nights at the beach near the airport and then 4 nights in Bangkok before our flight to Sydney.

Took a couple videos-pictures really couldn't capture it. Shows each location on the grounds after it was used/when empty. We got there and hung in the front lawn, then moved to the courtyard and back lawn for appetizers. They were carving prosciutto for us... I have found the perfect wine. More later. For now I have to do something about the chlorine in my hair from the late night dip. Opera in Verona tonight. Kisses from Italy.xx Ps. Judd, there was a pedicure incident. ...

... you dont get the same view odf the lake as you do on the east coast. The west cost seems to be more expensive too, with petrol being at least 10-15cents more a litre!

So, all in all, today was a better day, and I have a smile back on my face (although that may also be to do with the fact that I finally have a bottle of wine - for about 2euros!)

Tomorrow I hope to get to Verona.

    I'll keep you posted

... We are incredibly lucky to be thought of from so many miles away. Grazie mille, i nostri amici grandi e famiglia!

That was it - a very different but very memorable birthday in Verona. We walked home through Piazza Signori and under the gaze of Dante's statue.
