The main road is the one that you can catch a bus up for $1, so we're glad to see we are not lost, however we notice the sign says another 3.4km until we're there. We think, okay that's not so bad, we've done long walks like this before...until the main road begins to wind around into gradual inclines, there was no flattening out on this road. We get half way into the walk and we have a laugh because it's getting literally ...

Within a few minutes most of the locals struck lucky with the first buss to pass then, twenty minutes or so later it was Brian and his wife' s turn but we had to wait a further ten minutes for a bus going to Ambato. As the bus was pretty full already we were relegated to the back seats with only a small gap in the company's logo on the window to peer through.

... town and I would definitely not push my luck with that volcano.

"Verdad," I said. "Yo creo. I believe it's La Virgin."

"Well. OK," Gina said finally, because she is a gracious woman. "Maybe God has had something to do with it. But not the Virgin."

The Virgin has her own waterfall tumbing down the mountainside on the back side of town and her own flowered grotto with spring water you can drink or ...

... a better than the first as the seat reclined, but still not much room considering we were meant to be on a Cama! The bus arrived into Ambato at 3pm after another 7hr 30 minute journey. We left the bus with quite a few other tourists and suddenly a guy came over to everyone shouting Banos, Banos. He walked straight across two busy main roads and stopped cars and took us to a bus which would take us to Banos. The cost was only $1 each which is nothing and ...
