Now that the extensive background is out of the way, let me tell you about what I have been doing.
I have been in Ecuador for a week now. I live in the city of Baņos, which is famous for it's thermal springs, hence the name. There is an active volcano (Tungurahua) just outside the city, which heats the springs. I hope that she will erupt ...

The final part of the day consisted of a trek through the secondary jungle,learning about the different trees and forna, before ending up at a waterfall where we were encouraged to strip off (to our swim wear) and go for a soak. It was a beautiful sight. Surrounded by jungle in what seemed the middle of nowhere with no civilisation in sight. This was the end of our trip and we headed back to the minivan to go back to Baņos.

... air we had to climb up a steep slope of rocks before following a path round through some countryside back to the complex. It was now raining. We returned the wellies we'd hired, picked up our bags and some of us got changed; I didn't change because the the facilties had wet floors and were really dark and didn't have anywhere to hang anything up. We were also in a rush. I just wrung out my top and shorts and hoped I'd dry out naturally on the bus back to Baņos.
