"La Ensenada" was a VERY EXPENSIVE up-and-coming hotel. This was honestly the WORST experiance I have ever had at any hotel. This is what you will get for $100/night. -No air conditionin. -Non-functioning safety deposit box. -No hot water. Upon waking up, this is what we were greeted with for our $200-night. -Water all over the floor. -No water at all for about 5 hours. When we complained upon leaving, all we got was a very gracious..."I'm sorry." I WOULD NEVER RECOMEND THIS HOTEL FOR ANYONE ...

... Tela. We had a really nice stroke of luck by meeting a very friendly and kind Canadian man named Fred who let us stay with him while there. Also a traveler, he was a pleasure to talk to since he always had such interesting stories to share. His house was a really sweet place on a hill and we liked spending time there with Fred just talking. We visited some lovely beaches in the area and went kayaking in the mangroves in Punto ...
Tela, Honduras silvergirl10I´m back on the Caribbean coast and of course it´s raining. Didn´t rain in Nicaragua or El Salvador. Been raining all the way across Honduras today. It´s like a flood plain out there. They don´t have drains. There are filthy puddles everywhere while we wait for gravity to take its course. The Mayan ruins at Copan were fabulous. Not as gobsmacking as some ...
Tela, Honduras valetroy... people. Claire: On Sunday we got ourselves ready to leave Utila so didnt really get up to much. Monday morning we were on the ferry at 6:20am and thankfully the crossing was a lot smoother than the first time round. Aha Michael Jackson's jut come on in the internet cafe we're in. So we left the Iguana Station 2 weeks earlier than planned. It was a really fun and interesting experience but we were itching to get on with our travels and had ...
Tela, Honduras hanscottclaire... it is rumored that some have solar panels and tvs. A family at the villiage prepared us a lunch of rice and beans in coconut milk, fried plantain (with ketchup it tastes like fries) and fish. Gord ate most of my fish as I can not get past seeing the whole fish...it looks way too much like it was when it was alive. The kids got to swim on the beach for an hour and now are watching Scooby Doo in Spanish in our room. It was another great day....until the next time.
Tela, Honduras lanaandgord... dinner at a steak restaurant. We had a great time just chatting away, I was sitting near Sylvie, Jess, and Cat and conversations went on for 2 hours. All of them are interested in many things. Jess and I have a common interest in biology. Cat is curiousabout linguistics, and studying abroad so I gave her some tips. It's been a nice day, and tomorrow should be just as great. I plan on sleeping in a little, having some pancakes wit the girls, walking around ...
Tela, Honduras yoomster... on Hotel Rio Mar, which is no frills, but the rooms are fairly large with private bath with cold shower. (No need for hot water here, it´s WAY too hot outside.) We were lucky, and ran into the owner, Senor Sherwood, at his neighboring, luxury hotel, and he offered us a discounted rate of only $14 for the more downscale, beach-front hotel, which ended up being the best deal in town. Tela is a ...
Tela, Honduras erikandtalor... of it for the 8/10 people who is trying to change you some money on illegal basis, after we exchange our last queztals into lempiras we walked to the office for put the entrance stamp in our passports and to follow walking into Honduras with no one who bothers us, we keep walking for about 500meters and then we wait for a bus with a seat for yourself (I though that Honduras was one cheek of Central America ...
Tela, Honduras javierferrinOne of the greatest parts of living here is the ability to travel to places that I have never been. This is Bernadette's last weekend so she got the privilege of choosing this weekend's destination- the beach! Lauren, Alex, Bernadette, and I went to Tela after school on Friday. Our ride could have been much shorter but we got stuck behind a truck full of sticks that ended up breaking down and blocking the whole road. We still haven't ...
Tela, Honduras claudiacfavre... not like water, so we wrapped him up, fought with the guys in the dive centre and he took us to the hostel, we checked in and upacked so we could dry everything, little steve's box was ruined and we all had a good laugh. so after a little lunch we decided to go look for an apartment (as we planned to stay for 3 weeks) and also a dive centre (as we planned to dive) so i donned my water proofs, trousers and all, and we set off with out shoes, i was having a great time splashing in ...
