Brendon bought a few more picnic supplies and we had a lovely picnic on the hotel terrace with a bottle of Dolcetto from Tenuta Fagnanetto - it was the perfect red wine for a picnic. The kids had a great play with a little boy also staying at the hotel - I love how there's no language barrier between kids. Now I'm off to watch Germany V ...

Buying wine in boxes is quite normal direct and a cheap option - we had to talk Pascal into only a bottle, he wanted a 5 litre box, he came round in the end but choosing that bottle took awhile. We avoided the main highways and toll roads so our GPS tooks us through many back roads to Miramas. It was interesting to see their relative lack of safety equipment while handling the steaming bales of lavender and operating the heavy machinery.
