This cosy, welcoming hostel was a great introduction to Santiago. Friendly and helpful staff, colourful and lively décor, and easy access to useful information. Also offers a wide selection of tours as well as many evening events such as Salsa lessons and Chilean food night. Facilities were clean and well maintained and the rooms were colourful and cool with relatively comfortable beds. Bedding and towels were included. All around a wonderful place to stay.

Adios South America, Hasta la vista...
We headede to the bus station to get our 5.30pm bus loaded with healthy option snacks. We had heard good things about Chile buses so assumed everything would be ok for the 25 hour bus journey ahead. The bus was fine, comfortable enough, warm and no annoying kids. We watched about 5 films in total including the South American classic, Crocodile …
Day 1 Santiago de Chile

After gathering our luggage, paying a whopping $130USD entrance fee, and being ripped off by the shuttle buses we arrived at La Chimba Hostel, located in one of the trendiest and most …

After spending a couple of 'muey tranquillo' semañas a Playa Ritoque, it´s quite the culture shock to live the metropolitan, busy-bee lifestyle in a monstrous city like Santiago. The first day I was actually afraid to leave the hostel! Apart from braving the metro to buy a bus ticket …
Bellavista
Santiago was my first stop in South America... a place to land from Australia, spend a few days chilling out and getting over the jet lag of the 16 hour flight and time difference, check out the city, see the new president Sebastián Piñera get inaugurated and experience my first Terremoto... a 7.6.
Santiago is a very western city, quite an …
A blissful week in Chile!
Hello all!!! I hope that everyone is enjoying the weather and getting ready for election time!!! (Go Obama Go!) Chile has been a blast and it is insane that we are already flying to Argentina in the morning and that my time in South America is almost to an end. Santiago is a quirky city with lots of art ...especially cool grafitti art all over the …
