... occupy two little boys, Armando, age 4 and Jose, age 7. Both boys were very sweet and were very excited to play with me. Armando is very bright and speaks fluent Spanish. I think I am going to learn alot of Spanish from this 4 year old! Jose has a language problem so he often doesn't use the right words for things. Ah, we have something in common!
The boys colored page after page of coloring sheets and loved it. We ...
... case. The next morning, with renewed determination I drove across San Jose, found a new top for my car, paid $75.00 more than I'd been quoted and I was off to replace my stolen clothes.
. I have never been robbed before. I was ambivalent about recounting the story. I could imagine people saying, "I said she was nuts for doing this. I warned her never to trust anybody." But I am not yet ready to run home with my tail between my legs. I am determined to ...
... This really is a spexcial tip!!! Every weekend he goes to his little paradiese... doing some building work and runnig with his crazy dogs through the jungle. Aftter half an hour all the way up to the mountains we arrived at the Finka. This really was heaven!!! With a hammok, and our place remebereing of fairy tales like snow white... we just found one of the most peaceful places of the country. Still we didn´t have to spend the next days without any luxus. Light, water ...
Orosi, Province of Cartago, Costa Rica aileenchen... a few choice words with her and despite it, she would not give up. While he tried to recline his seat, she pushed on his seat, trying to push it back into the upright position. This was not a pleasant experience. After what seemed like an hour, she finally gave up. I noticed after this event Ed had a "don't even go there lady" look on his face and it remained the entire flight. I can't believe how someone can be ...
Alajuela, Province of Alajuela, Costa Rica rfritzjrToday was a fun day, I finally met everyone. The last of the EAP kids came on a flight this morning at 5:30, and the rest of the staff showed up as well. So we did a nice introduction meeting where we got to meet each other, and then we got our itineraries and learned about what we'll be doing here for the whole trip. These next two weeks, I'll spend time on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, one week in the south of the country and one at the tip of the north of the ...
San Jose, Costa Rica prospero... she's happy). We sometimes have to order 'café negro', or black coffee. Also, we had seen a full color, freely distributed, cartoon-stylized map of the Arenal/La Fortuna area. We wanted one to show our visitors; and another two for our kids. So, strolling into tour offices, a couple of bookstores, and restaurants, we asked if any were available. At one small kiosk we were offered a free map - for $3! At one of the offices a fellow customer (in ...
San Jose, Costa Rica stix_na... on the up side apparently language is no barrier for communicating in hugs (anyone present on my last day of work will now this is definitely something im well versed in) , so im doing alright with the kids. Am also taking intensive (and i mean intensive!) Spanish lessons in the afternoon, so hoping i improve, fast. Anyway more interesting stuff. I'm based at a sort of day-care thing for parents who can not afford normal day care ...
San Jose, Province of San Jose, Costa Rica tanjahvid... three-toed sloth in the trees. He was so well camoflauged that pictures don't do justice. But it was neat to see him lounging in the trees. With our afternoon free, we wandered around the main square in Alajuela and attempted to visit the museum but it was closed. We dined at Pizza Hut and then headed back to the hostel to book a bus to Monteverde for early the next morning. Hopefully we'll see a lot of wildlife in the cloud forest!
