It started pouring while we were there which made us nervous because we were going to an outdoor zoo following the plantation but fortunately it stopped. So next we went to Zoo Ave - a conservation zoo project that started because people were stealing the exotic birds and selling the eggs to make money instead of keeping the birds in the wild. The hostel we stayed in had a lovely dog, I spent a bit of time playing hunting and catch with her, although she did not seem to understand the rules well. ... Anyway I am now staying in a lovely town-Alajuela -in Costa Rica,s Central Valley-half an hour from the capital,San Jose, and only a few minutes from the airport. It has a lovely leafy central plaza where I shall enjoy chilling out. I am also in a bit of culture shock having spent the last couple of months in 3 very poor countries.
