... were drenched in sweat only to find out our train was running a few minutes late. Once on the train, for the first time all trip a woman came by to collect our tickets. The woman was singing and told Josef that he needed to buy a ticket next time, singing the words to him the whole way through. We got off the train and went and got our stuff, and then I bought pizza and one last round of pesto and foccacia bread. We went back to the train station and headed ...

It is a great way to end our stay in Tuscany Today we are doing laundry and packing up. Tomorrow we will return the car to the ...

... time, the whole area had been under construction and you couldn't get close to the tower (it was leaning too much). Well, I guess, after a few failed attempts they were able to straighten it (just kidding!). At least the tower is now stable and the whole area around it is much nicer. After Pisa, we drove to Lucca where we celebrated my mom's 70th birthday. It was really nice to go on a few walks and hikes ...

We called in to Pisa on our way to the Cinque Terre. Didn't really think much of the town of Pisa, but the area where the Leaning Tower is, is well manicured and hundreds of people flock there to try and get their photo holding the tower up.
It's a nice building and the reading the facts about the degree of angle the tower is on (3.99) is quite interesting.

Sorry nothing more to report, i'll try do better next time :) ...
