... The funny thing was that despite being in a museum, we became the main attraction. They all wanted to say the few words they knew in English and find out where we are from. It was a little weird but funny at the same time. Having located the Citibank that we believed would give us free withdraws we headed off in search of the river and basilica. The river it self is pretty disgusting but what they have done around it is worth the visit. The basilica from a ...

... through the night a few guys started a particular dance, in which a mass of people joined in mimicking his moves, like a huge flash mob, this went on for about 10 minutes. An impromptu mass dance session, it was brilliant!

... when Boston would get better headlines. Too soon?

From Lima we flew to Quito, the capital of Ecuador and from there we took a bus disguised as a discoball to Tulcan, honestly I have never seen such a pimped out people-wagon in all my days. Tulcan is the closest town to the Colombian border and an absolute shithole; unfortunately we travelled during the night, arrived at about 3am and had to wait in the station for the first bus at 9am. What is it they say about ...

... the big city. We got off and watched a street performer dancing Salsa with a female manikin. This is the region of Salseras, so there is a lot of music and dancing around. It is also Christmas time, and the streets were packed with vendors and families buying gifts. A bit overwhelming in this heat, we quickly avoided the packed streets and walked through the town squares and churches. One church had a huge sculpture of a Cali Spaniard holding ...
