Between Popayan and Pasto, buses were reportedly being blocked on the road at night and the whole busload was being robbed. We decided to finish our visit in Popayan and take the bus back to Cali, then fly to Quito on a two leg flight offered by TAME, the Ecuadorian national carrier.

... outside the city, kids on the side of the road started launching buckets and bags filled with water at the bus, drenching anyone unlucky enough to have their window open. After we tried to go to a club a local knew but it wasn't open so we returned to the hostel and a group continued on to a street fair for those who had been at the festival. It was only midnight or so but I stayed behind because I had to be up at 6 for my early flight to Guapi. All-in-all a very fun evening!
