A wonderful hideaway in a busy city

Fabulous hideaway in the middle of the city. Gorgeous setting, quiet, big room, swimming pool and a fantastic place to laze around and reflect on your travels. The garden is just beautiful with added natural wildlife flitting in and out of this garden makes it a very special place. I would recommend a stay here as a must do. Breakfast was also fantastic

Friendly, efficient family service which is much bigger than it looks due to the maze like lots of rooms hidden all

The breakfast restaurant overlooks one of the gardens and beautiful colonial houses on Jerusalem street. They have recycling bins, games room, pool and bar (excellent pisco sour welcome drink on our first night)

Nice hostal. Comfy rooms and set in a beautiful courtyard. We were there in low season so it wasn't too busy and the bar / restaurant didn't seem too geared up for visitors. Don't get your laundry done here. We were waiting til almost midnight to get it back. Overall a lovely stay though.

What a fantastic day we had exploring this beautiful city. Arequipa has a population of 1 1/2 million and when you drive in you wonder why it has got this great reputation as a beautiful city. It is nor until you reach the central old part that you feel that complete amazement of the buildings, the atmosphere and how historically stunning it really …

We had a free day in Arequipa which is the second largest city in Peru. I went to the monastery (where there are still monks) for a tour and then on to the cathedral. We were able to climb to the top of the cathedral which gave us good views of the surrounding volcanoes and mountains. The cathedral was damaged in a earthquake in 2001 but it has …

... t planning on staying in Nasca that night, but we didn't have a choice as the new part was going to be shipped over to us and hopefully fixed that night. The Nasca lines are lines that were made into the desert sands thousands of years ago, no one really knows how or why, but they are there. The only way to see them properly is by aeroplane, but as it coasts $70 US, we weren't going to go. We did get to see a couple of them by looking off a viewing ...
