After 6:15am Mass we got on the bus to go to Monte Cassino. The Abbey for the Benedictines is there. We went up the mountain to the Abbey and had a great tour. The story of the rock is that St. Benedict fell and God made the rock soft so his arm print is there. St. Scholastica liked doves and when she died St. Benedict saw doves. Then we left to go back to ...

Our morning started early, 5.30am to be exact. We had to get ready for our tour that started at 6.45am. It also stated a bit stressful because I thought I hadn't confirmed the trip properly but all was good. The mini van rocked up at about 7am and we were on our way. Our group consisted of the zcech Lucas (or nature man with the extremely contagious laugh), the Dutch Wies, South African Chris and Lauren, American David, American/Israeli Jacob and Zeev, Zcech Theresa 1 and Theresa 2 and our Thai guide Quick. We spent three days walking through beautiful nature, trying all kinds of food (including ants and a Duck that we saw being slaughtered), sleeping in the jungle, ...

        Friday 29th May

We drove through Pescasseroli at the beginning of May when we were trying to find somewhere to refill our gas cylinder. At that time we found a petrol station that had the right connection to be able to fill it with the gas used in cars.

We headed to the same petrol station to get a refill but this time it was a big no no. The attendant indicated that it was illegal – oh well.

... for you. It was a Scholastic Abbey. The group that we were with today were Americans and Canadians... They made us feel young and were all there looking for dead relatives! Graffiti is worse alongside the train tracks! Off now to get some Pizza( although Hawaiian Pizza does not seem to be authentic Italian) and maybe a little Chianti!! Big Ems has not hit the shops yet and the retailers are hanging out for a retail boom!! That is all from ...
