... but all set in lovely woodland / coastal setting. Whilst some of the houses are extraordinary and get girls attention they show no interest in extraordinary golf courses like pebble beach and spyglass..... Heathens ! Then to Carmel which is very pretty and busy. Have lunch in French restaurant but not to girls liking as they spend most of time scraping Parmesan off their pizzas. Back to hotel and ...

... the one they play at for some of the US open so we have to see it. We park up and head to the club house. It is super chi chi foo foo. We are completely under dressed in our hoodies, shorts and thongs. I want a coffee so we order one from the waitress that greets us and we take a quick look at the green. The roped off section in front of the clubhouse is the 18th hole. All the tourists are taking happy snaps while the locals sit in the chi chi foo foo cafe and eat ...

We got back in the van and drove on past many multi-million dollar homes - some were amazing – Mike said he thought that they were weekenders for many owners. On we motored to see the Lone Cypress Pine - quite remarkable that it has survived all this time !
