... in such a scenic setting. In fact, the city's nickname is La Linda, or, "The Pretty One." (It was also nice to be rewarded with clear, sunny views after our overcast time in Rio.) After spending the morning at the top, we descended to the picturesque Parque San Martin, where we rented a paddleboat and pedaled around the lovely little lake with the ducks. We then posted up at a restaurant well in advance of kickoff of the World Cup final. We ...

... into Chile and generally spending quite a lot of time in, around and on the Andes for the next few weeks we thought we'd check out the Museo de Arqueologia de Alta Montana de Salta (or MAAM for short). Also the streets are very crowded (this reminds us Buenos Aires). Unfortunately there are almost no trees on the streets, and today was very hot.
    - We took two tours out of Salta: one south, and one north. In both cases the road runs through the mountains, and ...

... The bus ride was long and slow as we had to cross the Andes. The bus was going max. 30 kph uphill and max. 100 kph downhill (or else there was a loud beeping sound). But what made the ride unpleasant, wasn't really the lack of speed or comfort on the bus, but a big group of Australians (all around 20) constantly complaining about it. I always think that if you want all the comfort of your home, you should simply stay there. When we reached the border, we ...
