    Day 9

A travel blog entry by julieericson on Jul 23, 2015

Day 9- I keep having dreams about Angeli. I also can't help myself from waking up at 6:30 every morning even though we are allowed to sleep in much later. Today, we woke up and then headed over to Cabarete and the lazy dog cafe! Yay wifi! I talked to my friends and family and enjoyed the indoors for a bit. I went out on the sunny beach for just an hour before we all ate pizza for lunch! I've missed pizza so much, so I was extremely excited ...

    Day 8

Today, we took the hour and a half bus ride to hell, also known as Brisón. The village of Brisón is located at the top of a ginormous mountain and some person decided it would be a fun time to go and hike it. I disagree. The long bus ride was pretty miserable because me and my friends always happen to accidentally get on the bus with no air conditioning that always breaks down. Bad idea, however, I was able to endure my sweaty ride over. Before we ...

... really funny. We also made the mentors group together and do one! After leadership it was that time of the day again. Georgio's talk was a little more interactive tonight, but still very, very tiring and somewhat unpleasant. I got his email though because I'm going to use some of his PowerPoints as inspiration when writing my college essay. I miss America so much I started making a list of all the things I'm going to buy and eat when I get home! ...

... short visit, saw a need and realized that as Christians, not helping should not be an option. When Caitlin came to the DR the first time, it was suppose to be a short-term mission trip. But God had other plans. What she saw and experienced when she got here awakened in her a desire to do more. You can read the story yourself on the Esperanzameanshope website, so I won't go into the details, but what I will point out is that when she and the others started out, there was no ...

... t eaten yet. Then we regrouped at, you guessed it,
Plan B. A few hours of drinks later we said goodbye to our favorite bar and the
wonderful girls that run it. Then off to bed to cry in our pillows. Sunrise.
Packing. Rocky’s breakfast. Cab to the airport.

We are left with memories for life and a million inside
jokes that hopefully will never get old. Edson, Graham, and Will, thanks for
the good times and I can’t wait for our next ...
