... but that a mouse had run under the bag or something. It was just so bizarre.

Anyway, I get back on the bus and settle in for some more sleeping. Sure it's 2 in the afternoon, but I'm "traveling." (Side note. I know putting the period inside the quotes is proper. But doesn't it just look stupid? I mean, from a design perspective it really should be on the outside. Or am I wrong and it looks stupid because it's wrong and I have it all backward in my head?) And so ...
Valencia, Valencia, Spain josiezim... arrived in Valencia at 5am so I was so exhausted and had to navigate my way to the hostel in this condition. When I arrived I could not check in so I slept on the couch in the computer room until 9 am and still could not check in until 3pm so I wasted half the day just lounging in the tv room and talking to some australian girls. Once I got the energy I went out and explored the city. I passed through a beautiful botanical garden full of stray cats which ...
Valencia, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands hippietraveler... br>olive oil
(balsamic vinegar = optional)
salt
pepper
rosemary

Cut the veggies and patatoes in slices, big is nice, and put them on the tray. Pour now the oil over it and add the herbs and the spices. If you dont have patatoes its nice to mix some balsamic vinegar with the oil. If you have patatoes its nicer to add rosemary. Grill everything in the oven at max 200 degrees Celsius for about 45 minutes.

Torrent, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands nyassey... it was definitely an experience. Here's the scenerio. Buñol is a town of a little less than 9,500, but on one day a year, the last Wednesday in August, its population balloons to, if I remember correctly, about 39,500. So, there's 3 times as many visitors as there are residents. Needless to say, the streets are crowded, and not everyone gets into the main plaza where the Tomatina takes place. So, seeing as Laura and I ...
Bunol, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands ksullivan... y las Ciencas to watch an IMAX film called Los Alpes, of course about the Alps. It's about a guy called John Harlin III who grew up in Lausanne in Switzerland. When he was 9, his father John Harlin II fell off an Alp. It's about his journey dealing with his father's death by climbing mountains. With the perfect Queen soundtrack and Michael Gambon narrating, it was an IMAX classic; I would have liked more sweeping ...
Valencia, Spain emmab... would reconmmend it to you. So, the trip starts!! As usual, we cannot walk in a city without knowing direction so we went to the tourist office to get a free map. Starting from Plaza Ayuntamiento, probably the biggest square of the city, the big buildings around it reminded me of those in Grand Via in Madrid. We walked around the city's old square which is rather small and can be done within a day. The hightlight of the city was definitely Cathedral ...
Valencia, Spain somnuek94... this stage I missed him crazy ways. Luckily he arrived in Valencia on the 28th and we met him in the afternoon at the train station. I was so happy to see him - I simply couldn't wipe the huge smile off my face the whole afternoon. At 5pm we went back to the train station to meet Shane, and Stef was meeting two Aussie blokes she had met in Athens. With Shane, Joe, Taz and I, the four of us agreed we had staged a pretty awesome Topdeck reunion ...
Valencia, Spain irresolueWith Team New Zealand seeking revenge in the America's Cup, a trip to Valencia in Spain was in order. With only a long weekend to play with it was going to be a whirlwind few days of culture, sun and sport. Valencia is located on the South Coast of Spain as has a population of around 900,000 - very small in comparison to Madrid and Barcelona. Because of this, Valencia lacks much of the tourist spin of other Mediterranean destinations and is real grass roots ...
Valencia, Spain jonnyandliz... stopped I visit the old town with all my bag, which became heavy and rough afterwards. I slept a little bit in the church and later while I was snacking on the plaza, I received an sms from Javier with his adress and I decided to walk not knowing how far it was... I finally arrived by 10hpm in his strange building that look like an office tower outside of town. I met him and his other 2 guests and we had a basic pasta meal and some talk before heading to sleep by 12h30. November 23 Lazy ...
