... back at 2pm as they were shutting shop for afternoon siesta..that is just really bad customer service. Not being able to complete the mission we did some grocery shopping and went back to camp for lunch. Rich and I stayed behind when Chris and Jan left again to sort the battery out and we went for a swim, well a good attempt by me. My back couldn't handle the position of swimming so we both made use of our inflatable rings we had bought weeks ago. I didn't last long as ...

... wooden posts show us the way.
For me the most impressive part of the day ( besides the French pastries) was the spectacular scenery on the road from Geneva to Chamonix. Stopped for some speccy photos then continued on the high path leading to a point further along the glacier (hard work and at altitude – Sam very ...

WOW,WOW,WOW is all I can say to describe this mornings ride, we rode up hills and cruised back down with mighty mountains to our left and right. We were cycling through the mountains although there was still a few descent climbs for us. I got the biggest thrill and it really felt like an achievement to conquer some of these. Way up in the mountains you would think you would feel isolated - not in France there are small villages ...

... we will have to pay a one off Swiss tax of over 40 euros and also do not have our passports on us. We have travelled just 9 Kms into Switzerland but far enough to see the cow bells, the cuckoo clocks and the Swiss chalets. Coming back to Chamonix we see amazing mountain scenery going through these villages. Later that day we go to La Houche and explore other areas around ...
