... so (L-R) we are me, Dario, Alex, and Alice, with Bernard and Justin in back. A wonderful bunch of people who were so much fun to spend a month with!

Later, everyone but Dario and Alice joined a couple of students from the other class and me at a restaurant for a lovely "farewell" dinner. There I learned, among other things, that Justin is a Franciscan, not Buddist, priest. What are the odds that two of six students would be Catholic ...

... all in Italian, mind you -- that had nothing in common with the real story. (I listened but did not speak because I still cannot get my mouth to say Italian words rather than French ones. It's very frustrating.)

    Maurizio is the son of my first cousin, Oscar (& Patrizia) Cescon. Oscar's father, Guido and my Dad were brothers. Oscar and I are of the same vintage and have grown close over the years.
