In a nutshell- Cousin Corrado took us all over Lake Como, including to the castle where they filmed Casino Royale, and George Clooney's place! He took us up the mountain side. We always thought that we were at the top, but then we went higher! We went for a walk around the area. We went down to S. Segmente for an expresso and then up into the hills. We also went to Lugano Lido where Corrado works in Switzerland for a fun day of swimming. The ...

It's time to pack up and leave Venice to start the real road trip. We bought our tickets for the Ali Laguna (airport water bus) yesterday so are all set to pick our car up from the airport. No footing ever felt sure to me, on the way down. I didn't like that route so we decided to take the 'other route' on the back of the property which was closer to the ...

... for protection of Lake Como. We are staying on the property connected to this landmark and our staying there gave us free admission to check it out, so we thought, 'why not.' It now houses rare exotic birds and has beautiful gardens. It was definitely worth the stop as the views from the tower were magnificent and we saw the biggest OWL ever! We then set out on our hike - which was a little confusing to find at first but is actually very well marked with ...

... is sunny and warm, with a light breeze.Perfecto! We are really glad to be settled for a while as the packing and unpacking, and lugging of cases has taken its toll. Here the biggest decision we have to make is whether to take a walk, catch a ferry or train to another village, visit one of the local landmarks or none of the above. It is indeed the Dolce ...
