Damn this place even has wifi. This HP ze4427 laptop was a trip. I bought it 14 months ago for 200 + 30 shipping. Arrived not exactly in the condition promised! The seller admitted to an omission and returned $50, for a dead battery but there were a host of other problems, some of which occasionally revert to normal. Like some of the other things in my life I spend as much time keeping it running, as using it. Beware of very short ads on ebay ...
Zipolite, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico xjassx... tickets from Xela to Coatepeque cost us 32Q; we departed Xela at 8:20 AM and arrived in Coatepeque at 10:35 AM. We left Coatepeque headed to El Carmen at 10:50 AM on a collective type van with our bags tied to the roof at a cost of 10Q headed. When we get to El Carmen we find out that it is near the border but not actually on the border. We end up taking two more collectivos for an additional 15Q before we actually get to ...
Puerto Angel, Mexico yoni... of stalls that stretches for blocks and blocks on the southwest side of the city. The sights, the smells, the hubbub were worth the effort to get there. A person could find just about anything there...and in profusion. Housewares to hats, music to mole', toys to turkeys, cheese to charbroiled meat and so on. Back across town, in front of Santo Domingo somewhat later, I heard someone behind me say, "Hello ...
Oaxaca, Mexico lambs... in Mexico. Pregnancy, accidents, infections, etc. One thing that I saw that was pretty interesting was a woman came in with a relatively large mass in her breast. They weren't sure if it was a cyst or a tumor, but they won't know what it is until they do either a biopsy or an X-ray. Other than that there were a couple of women in labor, a bladder infection, and a broken leg. Friday was VERY busy. First, I saw a ...
Pochutla, Mexico shef11308... that we don't think it was related to the fish) so spent another day being generally lazy and generally not doing anything. Kirsty finished her book but that was about the only point of any great note. The next day, we decided we should put in a bit more effort and eventually made our way to the beach. We walked round to a beach which was pleasant enough but we were constantly being bothered by people trying to sell us things, so we walked back round to the ...
Puerto Ángel, Mexico jacobandkirsty... beaches they stop by some rocks and offer us snorkeling. Not wanting to turn this down (and not wanting to feel sick any longer in the boat) it turns into fully clothed snorkeling - glad i did it as Nina said she felt very ill in the boat. We saw a range of multicoloured and bright blue fish - couldn´t tell you what they are! and tried to practice diving with the snorkels. For the afternoon we took a trip to the turtle museum in the village. A ...
Mazunte, Mexico lizzatwell... friggin easy! Us poor non surfers are recommended NOT to go out into the sea, as the undertow is just too much!! As if i want to have a washboard stomach anyway!!! The only downside to this place is that if you don´t like dogs then i´d advise to to stay away. The mangy things are everywhere. They don´t deball the dogs so they just multiply, as do the fleas and ticks that live on them. So, we are here, eating ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico mickandsarah... It seems her luggage went missing and the LAN people have no idea what happened to it! So by the time we finally got to the hotel, Monica and Dani were well into their Corona drinking! So our first full day in Mexico was Friday and we decided to go to the Bassilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. In Mexico City you cant get taxis anywhere because apparently they will definately rob you, so we had to get 3 different trains to get there. The first train was fine but when we got to the ...
