... A huge movie complex also spans both sides of the canal, served by a small ferry boat. Our canalboat docked once to drop off some visitors and turned around just at the edge of city, with the towers of the village of Pantin in our sites before ending the tour at La Villette, where we were just a short Metro ride from home.

... IN Paris...do not...it will only handicap you in the city. Their style of driving is quite different from North American standards. (Taxis are a decent second option, but can be expensive during peak hours...)

Enjoy your visit to Paris. As Hemingway once said, once you have been to Paris, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast! I will not forget my visit to this great city.
