We fail to set the alarm, and are a little late at getting away in the morning, we have approximately 350 miles to go, to our next planned destination, which is Moliets Plage, Landes (N43 51’ 5.8” W1 23’ 6.7”) an Aire with no facilities, other than street lighting and a Public toilet.
But, Kathleen has looked up the recommended Aire, and decided, she is not impressed, ...

... half way through the night the van was swaying so much we got out in PJ's and moved the van behind a bigger van to protect us a bit (we are always the smallest van by far in these places as loads of massive campervans everywhere bigger than mums!!) - this helped a bit but still battered all night leaving us with little sleep!

so we have moved on...having not got in the water yet...for fear of dying if we try it is so rough!! and loosing our nerve for surfing as ...

... statues dotted about ending up at a park which had a lovely fountain in the middle of it surrounded by a circle of pillars, the tops of which were covered in wisteria which is in bloom, so the scent was wonderful. We carried on through the town and once again were impressed by the architecture as there such mix of old and new. A break from driving

... essentials, ie wine. We are told by one of the English chaps we have met, there is a Carrefour supermarket, about a mile away.

After lunch we set off to find it, 1.6 miles there, according to my phone, so clearly we did not follow the shortest route. Did spot this amusing variation on "Beware of the Dog" sign.
