... much the rest of our journey will be centered around this body of water as we work our way around the coast of Italy, the islands of Greece, the south of Turkey as well as Israel and Egypt. This ancient travel hub for all the great civilizations and explorers of the past, this lovely warm blue water where Europeans come to winter will be our compass. Staying close for warmth, the solitary sun rises and sets over it’s expanse now that ...
Vic-la-Gardiole, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2totango... the same stories but every time it's hilarious.
The hi-lite of my stay in Montpellier was spending the evening with friends from elementary school I hadn't seen in over 10 years. I had completely lost touch with these people but thanks to Facebook, I was able to join them all and organize a reunion. It was absolutely wild to see how these people changed and grew up. Some changed a whole lot while others I would have recognized in ...
What a waste of a day...
Go to Nimes and the national parks people said..... we ended up at a campsite way out of Montpellier and the highlight of our day had been the supermarket!!!!
The national park was lots of farm type marsh land... not what we had imagined. Nimes seemed pretty and lots of well preserved Roman things but the traffic was a nightmare and too hard to park so we kept driving with a plan to go out in Montpellier that ...
... it to be just perfect. I was floating in th calm water gazing out at the blue sky and sail boats decorating the horization. It was the perfect way to end my weekend there.
After leaving the beach we went back to the house where we got our things ready to go and had one last toast to the great weekend with some wine made by Gregoire’s dad who has a winery. I loaded my thinks on the train ...

... to allow rain in Italy to clear. Want to re-visit Lake Garda, see if we can't get the spot right next to the lake we last had some 15 years ago, say. Don't know if it's a good idea to go back to the site of happy memories: can you improve on them in any way, or only spoil their rosy glow?
All well with rig, thankfully - you hardly know it's there!
... and bought warm beers to put in the freezer when we got home, and while we were waiting for them to cool down...Frisbee! In the main park in St. Chinian. Game on! Total number of photos so far:1262. Friday is a cruisy day so Pete can chill before dropping me and Sofe at Toulouse tomorrow and then continue tomorrow to the top of France. So far, we've eaten breakfast, had a coffee, eaten lunch and while I sit and type, Pete and Mandy are chilling reading books, and writing in diaries ...
St. Chinian, France peteandmandy... the hotel around 3 AM, very tired. I must say that the Crowne Plaza Heathrow is a very nice hotel. Everyone was friendly ( and spoke English!). We spent the 2nd sitting in the room trying to get our energy back up, watching a combination of Cricket and the Live8 concert. Being on the club floor, we had free access to sodas, snacks, etc., and never had to leave the hotel. That was OK with us after our return trip.
Montpelier, France tedanderinstarr... Mi porto a ...
