... us a bunch of chiles and spices so we'll see if they get here, if not we have to just use what we have here. i could really use some canned chipotles and achiote paste if anyone out there wants to send me some........at least there's lots of chiles here to use.
so that's pretty much where we are at now, were on the home stretch, hopefully within the month, everything will be here equipment wise and tables and chairs, and we can get started!
Goa, Goa, India gabemeyer... more person can physically be packed in. Crazy.

But the local buses are cheap, and they get there eventually so we went with it. And survived.

We spent a relaxing afternoon visiting Old Goa which was the main city back in the 1500's when Goa was under Portuguese rule. There are many old churches and cathedrals all of which are at least over 400 years old. It was a chilled way to spend the day and the buildings are very impressive.

We ...
Goa, Goa, India frewcandy... indian barbies! hmm!? It's weird though because watching indian telly all the actors are practically white, apparently the class system goes on how pale you are, it's so weird they're telling us how they want to be pale as we sunbathe using cooking oil hoping the sun will make us tan fantastic. (ok ok.. if the truth be told i'm really using factor 50) A lot of them are married too (sorry if this is boring but i love the whole culture difference) and one ...
Goa, India katyannwilkinso... and went in search of enlightenment at the nearby bodhi tree (village bar). It was a great opportunity for Kuhn to see his old friend and mentor again and for the rest of us it was a chance to sit in a bar on the beach, drinking pina coladas, sampling everything on the menu and occasionally making the short walk to the sea. We were soon joined by the indomitable Rosie Bradley (a good friend of my sister) and her equally hilarious ...
Goa, Goa, India vague-abonding... from Kochi, Kerala. Have to be there in two weeks, but I think we'll make it ;) Last days in Murud were easy. We made a bike trip to Janjira fort, about 5 km from Murud, together with some fellow travellers. The fort is built on an island, but it's built in the way that it isn't possible to see the island underneath, only the fort. Mostly it's just ruins left on the inside, but anyway it was really beautiful. Our absolute ...
Palolem, India ipalo... took us to Jessia Huts which turned out to be great. we had our own little hut on the beach (about $10 a night...with bathroom...a tin floor that popped really loud!), a great restaurant with excellent food and service and it was perfect. We also had our own personal James Blunt who sat outside our door and sang to us everytime we walked by "you're beautiful" haha Palolem Beach is the most idyllic of Goas beaches and we loved it. it is a ...
Palolem Beach, Goa, India monita... school uniforms, nosily clamoring for a seat. The canals would suddenly open into a huge lake with numerous house boats gently bobbing up and down in the water alongside the small boats with fishermen throwing over their nets hoping for a large catch. Small churches and temples faced the water while residents went about their daily routines, bathing, and doing laundry. I got off at the last stop and walked around the small town tucked away amongst ...
Pholem, India heather24... to try bicycling when I was finish with Goa. Two days before New Year a big group of Indian boys on my age checked in to my dormitory and now I had someones to talk with. I was nice to have someones to hang out with, though they where a bit immature from my point of view. I spend most of the next two nights with them and we also went out for New Years eve. They techno party were we ended was a good, not because of the music but because I found other backpackers. Which I ...
Panji, India fiscarlosTime to move on... ...and so we left Colva Beach today - sad to go, but we are both really excited about going to Thailand (mainly for food reasons...). Lots of friends have come and gone over the last two months, can't name everybody but it was really good meeting up with you all again. It seems that some people we see more of in Asia then we do in England! Dom kept us entertained by spilling drinks over anybody within a two foot radius and managed to wind up almost ...
