... this time on the beach hosted by the guys from Nameste, The crew headed out at 1:30 am and came home about 4:30.

Dev and his buddies Karim and Sean had to fly home this day and were pretty rough to say the least as we had a long drive back to Rio from Buzios then off to the airport.

... which was clean, simple with friendly staff and a fabulous roof bar overlooking the marina (which we had almost exclusively to ourselves).

Our first full day was occupied with an excursion to a small island called Morro de Sao Paulo. This involved a taxi, then a ferry, then a coach, then another ferry and finally a short walk to the beach! Well worth it. In 3 hours of travel we had escaped the dark clouds and heavy downpour of Salvador and were now sweating ...

... the beginning of a fantastic travelling partnership (insert quiet tears and sniffles here). And if not...we have vowed to eventually make it back to Roatan in Honduras and open our fabulous bar/cafe of all must visit! Katherine left for Sao Paolo and I dropped her off at the bus station early one morning. The other bus company clients must have been pretty amused to see the send off...complete with tears and "I dont want to leave"s! ...

... as you stroll the streets is absolutely nauseating!! The city itself seems to be something of a has-been. The facades of the buildings lead you to believe that about 60 years ago or so this place was amazing and now it is a little love lost. The Carnival Nothing short of spectacular. We managed to get tickets to the Sambadrome on both Saturday and Sunday night. Sunday night is the main event, but Saturday is the competition for the schools who want to be in ...

... miss this chance! Everyone had told us it was scary, loud and amazing, so we were very excited. We spent the morning chilling, headed down to the beach for a while, but damn is it hot down there! An hour is enough for anyone who has half a brain! We showered and then as it still wasn't time to go we headed down to the beach with a few of the others to try and find a blocko that was supposed to be starting early. We never found it, either it hadn't started or we got lost, so instead ended ...
