... it re-enact the battle between the Romans and Carthaginians, when the Romans invaded this area while Hannibal was busy attacking Rome. It seems like the entire city takes part; we went to watch one of their processions and perhaps a thousand people in hundreds of different costumes marched past, with war drums and occasionally acrobatics performed by 'slaves'.
