    One of the first things Susan said this morning was that she was 4 years old again today.

    We left the hotel at 9:15, with cloudy skies, 73 degrees heading west for the ocean. There was very little traffic in Anaheim, but that changed in Huntington Beach. The streets are laid out in a grid pattern which is nice.

    We had a 0700 start out of Blythe to beat the heat. Rode south for 35 miles (56 kms) before we hit a roadblock mounted by the US Border Patrol. There had been some flash flooding & there was water on the road. The Border patrolman told us the roadblock was just because of water on the road.
