Now we aren't waking up in the middle of night we are settling in to the Christmas "vibe" in Phoenix. It seems almost more Christmassy here with festive music being played in the warm outdoors & OTT light shows everywhere. Baubles on huge cacti, polystyrene snow in bars & everyone wearing scarves - whether they need to or not! We danced at a gay bar last night called Charlie's - great fun. ( for the Linedancing crowd they were teaching "American Cowboy" ...

After 83 more miles, we finally reached our destination for the evening, beautiful San Carlos, Mexico on the Sea of Cortez. Our hotel was Marinaterra Hotel & Spa and my room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the marina and the swimming pool.

... after a bit of driving, we came around the corner and saw the red hippopotamus restaurant with Logan standing outside and waiting for me.
We got to the room, which was probably the smallest one we've stayed in since we've been
in Europe but it was nice and clean and only about a mile from the train station to take us to the city center. After a long day of travel we crashed early for a full day of sight seeing tomorrow.

... Phil is talking about going home today! Good haircuts—Phil’s was really getting long!! Later we biked around the entire park, every road—something I could not do before—but that was before we found that my tire was rubbing very hard against the frame!!
