LaLaanta was a haven for us. After our airline lost our baggage, we were lucky to be staying in a place which cares so well for its guests. Thanks to Shicko and the staff for their help.
The resort itself is gorgeous - right on the beach with glorious sunsets at night. It never felt overrun with guests and we could always find beach lounges where we wanted, either y the pool or on the beach itself.
It's such a beautiful place, we hope to return one day.

... time wandering around the streets, taking it easy and made our onward connection, via the bus and boat network to Koh Lanta which we finally settled on as a quiet (hopefully) base for a while – let’s hope we can find the calm and serenity we want from Koh Lanta. We loved Bangkok but wanted to escape the crowds of gross tourists, who all seem to share a brain cell, a brain cell which is fully tanked up on cheap Chang beer, and is unanimously in search of the cheap happy ...

... in the water snorkeling - while on the snorkeling trip. They spent most of the time smoking and drinking while others snorkeled. The bumps were much less at the back BUT due to the angle we were traveling the water was splashing into my face over and over again. At first it was funny but salt water repeatedly in the face eventually gets annoying. Many people were soaked also. Finally I picked up a mask and wore it and the guy next to me had me grab one for him too. All ...

... it is here already. We Skyped family and wished everyone happy new year. We took a long walk all the way to the other end of the beach this evening and decided that the side we stayed on is definitely the better side to stay on and has a nice atmosphere. Tomorrow we are off to Bangkok for our last destination of this great adventure. But it's dinner time now, will be back with more news tomorrow. ...

... hated on Phi Phi! After booking an islands boat trip for the next day, Jess, Ellie and I went for a drink as we were being handed flyers for beach parties everywhere. It seemed a lot more lively than when I was here not long ago. The end of November is the start of peak season, it's just a shame the weather doesn't follow the same regime! A quiet bucket of drink turned into drunken pool playing as usual when I'm with Ellie, we were beaten by a couple of guys from New Zealand, ...

... travel agents and waited for the rest of the group. There were a couple of English girls from Manchester and a Russian girl who booked the same tour. We did the usual small talk, as you do when you met new people traveling. Where you from? How long you been in Thailand? Where are you going next? Etc etc. After about 10 minutes, a guide came and took us to the port area. We were spending the day on a big blue boat, equipped with kayaks and snorkelling masks. There were a few ...
