LaLaanta was a haven for us. After our airline lost our baggage, we were lucky to be staying in a place which cares so well for its guests. Thanks to Shicko and the staff for their help.
The resort itself is gorgeous - right on the beach with glorious sunsets at night. It never felt overrun with guests and we could always find beach lounges where we wanted, either y the pool or on the beach itself.
It's such a beautiful place, we hope to return one day.

... a quick shower and change of clothes, we unpacked and headed out to explore. We spent the evening trying to dodge the rain, but enjoyed a nice meal and sampled quite a number of the bars!! The first morning, the sun was out! We had breakfast and headed straight for a walk along the beach. By the time we settled by the pool to sunbathe a couple of hours later, it rained again so we headed for a walk and to make a plan for the next few ...
... I feel like a new man. Plan today is to go and rent scooters so we can get around the island and see what is what! Vikki has never ridden one before but she seems pretty keen to learn, so I spend a bit of time passing on all of my knowledge. This takes all of about 2 minutes, so we head out on the road when Lee and Tash join us. The threat of a heavy rain storm puts a halt on our roadtrip, so we head back to chill out. The beach which we are ...
... to get to the old town on the East side. En route we stopped at a viewpoint bar which gave us a vista of the sweeping mangrove forest down to the sea. It was noticeably different terrain this side which showed how varied these islands are, even whilst on the same island!
We didn’t know what to expect of the old town, a dusty road with shacks like the rest of the island probably but we were not prepared for what ...
... with a shower so big you could get lost in it and a sunken bath complete with little pillow. They had even left us little piles of rose petals next to the bath salts and bubbles to enjoy later. The toiletries provided are lovely and replaced twice per day!(I have already started hoarding! ) Mosquito repellant, dressing gowns, an umbrella and a beach bag are also provided! The water in taps and showers is all a little bit salty and so can't be drunk - plenty of bottled water ...
... picturesque landscape with. How many times can I describe how extraordinary these places are? It becomes stupefying, really. The other night my sister asked if I was ready to come home. As much as I'd like to continue on with this expedition I'm as equally excited to come home and see all of your cherub faces. I've learned that we are so very fortunate for where we reside and I think living in places like these would make one lose appreciation for some of ...
