... amazing places without the summer crowds and randoms in my photos. Apparently the place is a nightmare during the summer period and just by looking at all the car parking that has been set up, it is obvious that ten of thousands of people visit Le Mont Saint Michel each year and seriously who can blame them, simply remarkable and not to be missed. If we had the time we would loved to have stayed in one of the hotels within the walls of the Abbey but alas, Spain and warm weather are ...

We drove to Cancale which is a small fishing port well known for its amazing and huge oysters.
We were buying a dozen oysters (size 1, each as long as Greg's hand) fresh from the oyster farmers, for 5 euro ($7.50aus). People just eat them on the spot and the beach is strewn ...

Mont Saint-Michel

After breakfast, head to the tiny town of Mont St. Michel, connected by causeway to the mainland and home to only a few dozen full-time residents. Enjoy an included tour of the medieval town and its eleventh century Romanesque Abbey, world-famous for its dramatic clifftop perch, as well as its rich history. Breton legend has it that the archangel Michael appeared to Aubert, the local bishop, in 708 AD and demanded that a church be built on this stony promontory, ...
