When in Rome...eat a pizza!
... created by Bernini's architectural rival, Borromini. We strolled on to the Spanish Steps and then the Trevi Fountain. Both beautiful pieces of work and very crowded, but the walks inbetween through some of Rome's smaller streets away from the crowds were lovely.
We made the early evening trip to the airport that was smooth and our flight was on time as we departed for Venice where we were due to meet our host at the airport to pick up the keys for our individual apartment on the island ...

Well here I am again, in the only air conditioned area, writing another post! In the past few days I have gotten over the jetlag and am now officially on Roman time! The time difference is 7 hours and this is going to be an issue when contacting my family and friends back home. It is so weird to go on facebook and have one or two friends on chat because it is 3 in the morning back home. I miss everyone but the homesickness ...

Roman Holiday
... bite, we hopped onto the subway and made our way to the Coliseum and then to the Roman Forum. Since most people know about these famous Roman places, I will just post pictures and videos instead. Needless to say, it was a great day filled with wonder and awe, seeing these amazing sights.
