      ... full of amazing mosaics. After a few hours in Ravenna, we had a 3 1/2 hour driving through the Alps until we arrived in Tuscany just as there was the most magnificent sunset ever.       ... beautiful as well, divided into an upper and lower church as well as the tomb of St. Francis underneath, it had an incredible energy about the place and for me at least it was one of the most interesting churches we had visited. So after a grueling return to the hotel to retrieve our car it was time to embark on the final leg of our Italian road trip, the drive to Rome where we would return the rental car and bid arrivederci to our days of driving through Europe!

      ... even growing kiwi fruit! All the gardens were terraced of course due to the terrain and appeared self-sufficient. I guess it's a long way if you forget the "tomatoes"!

      All too soon that thrill was over and Luigi was leading us to his choice for lunch in Anacapri. His choice, of course, was fantastic.
