    Well what a day! Up the easiest of any day on our holiday so far! Yes all but one wide awake at about 04:00 and talking. Had showers and met everyone in the restaurant for the included breakfast, typical Hilton spread so we won't be hungry, that's for sure.     How the trip came about

    The seeds of this trip were sown when we flew out for the wedding of my son, Jon, who moved to San Jose, California when he married Danica. The ceremony, in Carmel Valley, was beautiful, the scenery throughout the state was stunning, and the climate exceptional, we were hooked!

    ... week to prepare.

    The last week has been a blitz of doctors appointments, getting medical paperwork for Emmanuel, packing, shopping, falling sick, working, paper-working and preparing our house for 5 months of hibernation.

    Our apartment in Paris is yet to be finalized but should get sealed tomorrow, so things are really really down to the wire. Time to get a few hours of sleep before the party begins.
