After another fun night in Memphis walked to the Civil Rights Museum and the site where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. We really received an education, but I think what we took from this most was that the people with no power achieved equal rights by peaceful protest and the people with all the power tried to stop them through violence. Very interesting.

... The house was last redecorated right before he died, so the 70's motif is what you see in the home. Imagine shag carpets on the floors, walls, and even ceilings in some rooms and dark paneling in the kitchen and back family room and basement. ... was re-decorated in the 70's and certainly reflects the fashion trends of that era. A bit gaudy for my taste. The adjoining buildings house the hundreds of gold & platinum discs he was awarded, plus some of his stage outfits, his and Priscilla's wedding outfits, a wall adorned with receipts showing his endless contributions to charities, and heaps of other memorabilia relating to his recordings and the films he made.
Early rising after another night with Jja and their adopted house pets. On the road by 7am anticipating the 8h drive. We pulled into Memphis at 3pm after a few quick stops. Received by the most adorable couple, Tom and Sandy, who own the Talbot Heirs guesthouse.
