Well, after a sudden change in my plans, I'm here in CANCUN!! Boy am I glad to be here, it's fantastic. Humid and sticky, but for some reason I love it. I think that maybe it's because it rained for 75% of my time in Oaxaca. The early 6:45 am flight offered a superb view of the sunrise, as well as a somewhat spooky one. This was one of the best days I've had in my life. We had breakfast and got in a cab to the Puerto Jurez ferry terminal to catch a ferry across the Caribbean Sea, 20 mins to Isla Mujeres. Bobbie had done her research and found the cheapest ferry to catch, we got on board and sat up top in the lovely hot sun, while a guy played songs on his guitar for us and we looked out over the crystal blue waters all the way to the Island. ... of our group before finally coming over to try and chuck me out. Uh-oh he wasn't happy and he was saying that this is the 2nd time he has had to chuck me out, and that he wasn't going to leave until he saw me walking down the steps to the beach. Sad times. Time to put my best Spanish into use.

It was fine, it would have been a nice place some 20 years ago but no-one had touched it since. Our view off the balcony was of a decrepit jacuzzi out the back, now overgrown and adjacent to a maintenance shed.

... we all made multiple trips back to the row of food stalls for more tasty Mexican food. Then we took them to experience a stanard Friday night in Sweet :)
Sat 22nd- Spent the day at the beach in Playa del Carmen and walking along Quinta Avenida to buy our Secret Santa presents... how cute. We then returned to Cancun to watch The Hobbit, and after a certain incident, I was unable to concentrate on the LONG film ...
