... receptionist at the hotel ( he has a waxed mustache gentle reader and he's under 30 ;so what's going on in his head?) told us the historic architecture was "cool". It's essentially like Houldsworth Mill with bars but the Yanks go ape **** for anything over 150 years old. Saw also the Gateway Arch which is by the river and pretty difficult to miss. Makes the Hulme Arch look a bit daft I'll say that. This mammoth structure is over 600ft tall and dwarfs every ...

Happy Fathers Day to All - Made it to Saint Louie - left Oak Creek around 11:40 this morning. No rain today but battled some fierce winds between shy town and normal Illinois. I was on part of the original Route 66 but didn't get to enjoy it much cause of the winds. About 1 1/2 hours from St. Louis it was sunny and much calmer. Arrived at the renaissance Grand St. Louis about 6:15. The Bell men at the hotel got a kick out seeing a BMW bike pull in. They were from Togo, Ghana, ...

... From there we walked a few blocks and bought tickets for the Cardinals and Pirates game later that evening before returning to the parking lot. Our van was still there and nothing was harmed. It even still had it's one lone hubcap.

Since St Louis has one of the best zoo’s in the country and it is free and since we missed it the day before we went back for the rest of the afternoon. It was a nice view. It was a bit strange seeing ...

... in the background. Great view.

The temperature is reading 98 degrees with heat index of 100. I got my photos taken of the scenery and I can say I made it here to the stadium. But the score's tied at the top of the 9th and I'm not feeling either of these teams enough to hang in this heat for extra innings. I'm out.
