On Friday, June 7, Suzy, Hayley, Lola and I met at the Crosby Street Hotel – a really cool place to have a girls’ afternoon. I hadn’t met Lola before. She’s from Spain, lovely, loud and loves to talk. It was great catching up before we had to head back out into the rain.
... Park and on to 5th Avenue. And of course, the very cool 5th avenue "glass cube" Apple store. Really big, really busy, but only a two minute wait for the Genius Bar if you had an issue that needed solving. There were at lest 25 staff walking around, probably more. After that was FAO Schwarz the famous toy shop with its even more famous giant piano...which was kinda underwhelming to be honest. Walked past all the other fancy-schmancy 5th ...
... let up and we (very happily) headed to the beach for a bit. Later that night we went to Joe’s Stone Crab Restaurant – a local institution. I usually find crab quite bland, but the stone crab was very good. After dinner we made our way back to the beach as there was a Gay Pride Festival on for the whole weekend. Lots of stalls, DJs, dancers, drag queens, interesting costumes – visual overload!

Our furniture has arrived! Yay- our apartment really feels like home now. We've ordered some couches so once they arrive I’ll post some photos. Most things arrived last Monday – one day more and we would have been without our furniture for exactly three months! They called the previous Friday and said they’d had a cancellation and if I’d be home on the Monday. I very excitedly said "YES!" and the guy said he’d call back within the hour to confirm.
