We left the hustle and bustle of Pointe A Pitre and sailed east to St. Franscois. We stayed in St. Franscois for only one night and worked our way to Petite Terre. We are so grateful we did because it was just fantastic! There are two uninhabitated green islands surrounded by reef. It was not the scale of say the Amazon, but was fantastic nevertheless. leaf cutter ants, gnarly wood, glistening spiders webs and dangling parasites were all on show. Even a giant natural vine swing was available to enjoy! For about two hours we walked around this sanctuary of ...

... wasn't a bad omen. They did a double take when we arrived to see several policeman standing in the foyer. Unfortunately, there were no cameras rolling... Our first 24 hours were spent lazing at the beach. I had only been swimming a short time when the first French boy asked if he could have his photo taken with me. (The first of many I hope!)
