... the owners toy and he actually did ride it. I struggled with my bags down the two flights of spiral stairs - unfortunately the stairs are very loud and creaky at the best of times, so I sounded like a herd of elephants bounding down the stairs. I was at the train/bus station in plenty of time - as usual. Bus was already there but couldn't board until 10 min before. I loaded my bags in the luggage area - I learnt this on the ...

... location. When I opened the page describing it I was a little deflated - it was in French - bummer. I was surprised at how sad I felt saying goodbye - we had really built up a great friendship with everyone and each day we had learnt more and more about each other. There was a little bit of confusion with the toilet facilities at this cafe. ...

... a little layby and were envious of the sky blue water inviting us for a dip in the backyard pool of the house we had stopped by. There was also a cake on the outdoor table cooling in the sun - seemed a little odd. The chateaux we could see was actually Mick Jagger's 16th century villa La Fourchette. After visiting the chateaux, I would love to see what the average/normal house looks like! We have passed though ...

Chateaux of the Loire - Azay le Rideau

This morning our luggage and bikes were loaded up and we travelled by mini bus and with Sigrid to Azay le Rideau. Sigrid was leading the way and unfortunately we were engrossed in conversation and she was in autopilot and missed the turn into Azay le Rideau - by quite a few miles - oops. The mini van driver had been trying to get her attention and Vicky had also been calling us. The sun came out early - we were not used to such a bright day so early. After ...
