    Saumur - last stay before Paris

    ... first day of rain, (probably since Edinburgh!), so we only had short walk in town before back to the hotel to read and for me to write this travel blog.
    Tomorrow we take the big highways and some toll roads towards Paris. First to Orly Airport to drop the car off, then into the heart of Paris to the apartment which will our home for a few days.

    ... the motorway. But the campsite was easy to find and reception was still open. Most receptions open limited hours and out of season, even shorter hours with lunch breaks from 12 till 2.30.     ... at low tide , remembering the tidal range is huge in this part of the world. Dinard a small town further along the coast was our last place for the day , small and with a very enjoyable promenade and magnificent bel epoc mansions overlooking the beach the pick of the bunch .     ... trip, never mind actually packing it and bringing it home! Anyway, the whole thing was great fun.

    I went with the Magnificent Seven afterwards for a picnic dinner by the river. One couple had bought grapes, a container of olives and peppers, apples, brie, crackers, Boursin, two baguettes, and wine. It was pretty good stuff and a nice setting. It got dark pretty quickly but it was a warm evening.

    Tomorrow's going to be a long bus day. Oy.
