We've been in Goa for two days now. It's definitely more Westernised than Mumbai but there's certain Indian attitudes that prevail. Most people take a break from the conservative dress expected in India and tiny short, skimpy tops and bikinis are common. ... in and a bit of brekkie i wondered down to the beach with my 2 room mates from Australia, as we are coming up to the monsoon season the sea was rough and pretty dangerous to actualy go in so we just walked along the beach for a few minutes until the torrential rain started, however even when it rains over here due to the humidy its still warm and you are never wet for that long.

... and the stupid thing followed us on to this tiny ledge, I hissed at it like a mad woman and tried to bark it away but it just looked and me blankly and didn't move! ... relaxing, drinking and apparently some people on some exotic substances. When we arrived we were immediately labeled the 'newbies' - something attributed to everyone arriving each day - and taken on a bar crawl. These nights out were daily and organised solely through a lad from Belfast who had taken it upon himself to ensure everyone in our hostel had a great time in the name of alcohol!
